Over and over v.0 é uma instalação de som e vídeo, que começou quando confundimos o ruído repetitivo de uma grua em rotação lenta com um alarme de telemóvel. O que nos agradou neste evento foi a forma como o próprio som alimentou a nossa imaginação e evocou as discussões mais abstratas que temos vindo a ter sobre limites e vazios. Igualmente intrigante foi o modo como padrões semelhantes de looping começaram a surgir noutras situações e como, com o tempo, o processo começou a incutir alucinações suaves. Numa forma cristalina, o vídeo estende os temas da repetição e do espelhamento, e o local filmado é tanto ele próprio como um substituto para outros locais.

Presentation of the installation Over and over v.0, 30th March, 6.30pm Oficinas do Convento
Convento São Francisco, Montemor-o-Novo, Portugal

Over and over v.0 is an installation comprising sound and video, which started when we mistook the repetitive noise of a slow rotating crane for a mobile phone alarm. What we liked about this event was how the sound itself fed our imagination and echoed more abstract discussions we’d been having on boundaries and voids. Equally intriguing was the way similar looping patterns started to appear in other situations and how over time the process began to instil mild hallucinations. In crystalline form, the video extends the themes of repetition and mirroring, and the location is both itself and also a surrogate for other places.
